1: How long does it take?
For under 12’s, the session will last about 1 hour. For older clients, the session will last between 90 minutes to 2 hours.
2: What does it feel like?
The experience feels different for different people. Some people feel sleepy or floaty, others do not. The one feeling everyone has in common is that of feeling relaxed, at ease and safe. Regardless of what it feels like, RTT is working, I promise.
3: Can I get stuck in hypnosis?
Absolutely not (that’s an old wives’ tale). You always have complete control the whole time. You can talk. Move your body, get up and go to the toilet and still remain in a deeply relaxed state. If we are doing our session over Zoom and the call gets disconnected, you may drift into a deeper sleep for a little while (like when you’re in bed), but eventually you’ll notice that you’re not hearing my voice and open your eyes.
4: How does it work?
Hypnosis is not magic; it’s science. It works by creating a burst of brain waves that are the same as when you’re in REM. This is what allows you to access your subconscious mind. It’s very easy and anyone can do it. We are naturally in this state at least twice a day, first thing when you wake up and then just before you drift off to sleep.
5: What if we don’t go deep enough?
Don’t worry, its not about how deep you go, I want you to forget about this. The depth of this state of being isn’t linked to the results. Please don’t worry about “doing it right/being enough”. Just tell yourself the truth; “this is going to work amazing well, because I want it to, I believe it will, I know it will”. Give your subconscious space to do the work and you’ll be awestruck by how effective the session is.
6: What if I already know the reason/s for my issue?
One of the benefits of RTT, is that even if you think you know the reason, you’ll see it from a different perspective, in a completely new way. This is the key to changing the meaning and therefore changing your beliefs. For many clients, they go back to scenes which are completely different from the ones they expected to go back to. Relax and trust that your subconscious mind knows there the answers are hidden and it will show you exactly what you need to see.
7: What if I go back to scenes which are painful or scary?
If you go back to scenes from your life which are related to things like sexual abuse, or any type of abuse or trauma, its important to remember (and I will remind you) that you are safe and you are reviewing the scene, not reliving it. You’ve already lived though it once, RTT is about viewing a segment of your life from a safe distance. I will be with you throughout the session, supporting you and holding a safe space for you to express your emotions and heal.
8: When will I start to see changes?
There are 3 types of change you can experience during and after a session. Every person is different.
- Immediate: You’ll feel a massive shift straight away- immediate changes in your physiology, thoughts, beliefs and behaviours, throughout and straight after the session.
- Incremental: you’ll see constant shifts, every day and/or over time.
- Retroactive: You’ll feel as if nothing has changed, until one day, you look back and see how things have been different. Hindsight really can be a wonderful thing.
9: What if I want another session?
RTT is designed to give you amazing, powerful breakthrough/s and create big changes in your life. Some clients need more than one session for an issue and that’s perfectly fine, I treat everyone as an individual. Many want to work on other areas of the life and receive coaching to integrate the new beliefs and build new habits. We can talk about different options, either straight after your session or after the 21 day period.

Harry had a very low opinion of himself, he thought he was fat and worthless, unlovable and had no friends. As his mother, I had tried to tell over and over that he is brave, handsome, smart, kind and very lovable, but now I know that he needed to feel and know that truth from within.
After his first session, he told me “I have no control over what people think of me or what they might say, but I do have control over how I think and feel about myself”. Since then, Harry is much calmer and sees himself in a very positive light. He is also happier and stands up straight, he looks brighter and freer from within. He has understood that he and only he has the power to change how he feels and turn situations around.
The loveliest thing I have found about Harry’s work with Esther, is that he really likes and trusts her, he looks forward to seeing her or speaking to her and he appreciates his private time and space to express how and why he feels what he does.
